Supporting High Street Recovery & Safety

Harrogate Borough Council will be working with partners to develop an action plan that supports the safe reopening of high streets in the Harrogate district to help the local economy.  Local authorities nationwide have recently been allocated money to help create and promote a safe trading environment for businesses and customers. The Reopening High Streets Safely Fund will support measures that enable public places in town centres to be safe and welcoming.

The Council has been awarded nearly £142,000 and is currently reviewing the funding and guidance criteria before developing a plan.  No details of how the money will be spent are available yet – but it doesn’t sound much when spread across the whole district. They are hoping to start implementing some of the measures in the coming weeks, so watch this space!
